When I was 15 years old working as an assistant in a studio, a young couple, who did not have a lot of money, came in looking for a photographer for their wedding. My mentor thought it would be a good way to get me started and help out the young couple…so began my career as a photographer.
Soon after college, I married and my husband and we embarked on a three year journey living in Germany. During that time I had the opportunity to explore the cultures of Europe, learn a second language and work as an apprentice with a prestigious studio that specialized in food photography. While learning food photography was an amazing experience, I love photographing people. And when someone says they hate being photographed - I take it as a challenge. At the end of the session I am always happy to hear them say it was actually a lot of fun and that I made it so easy for them to relax in front of the camera.
Over the years I haven’t specialized in any one thing because I enjoy the variety. Looking at life through my lens, I aspire to capture the essence of each subject. To me the result of my work is more than a piece of paper with color on it – I have the privilege of documenting a lasting record of someone’s life. Creating a family portrait that will be a timeless piece of artwork, senior pictures reflecting your unique style or commercial work that will help you promote your business.
